Louis Vuitton’s new 100 Legendary Trunks app is a perfect example of a luxury brand doing it right; incorporating their history and heritage into a modern interface, while giving Ys a taste of the Louis Vuitton archive. Well it’s, almost perfect—the iPad app costs a whopping $19 (making it the single cheapest item sold by Louis Vuitton)! We would love to see more brands incorporate brand lifestyle and tradition this way… for free.

There are two things I remember distinctly about my mom - her Louis Vuitton tote and her Erno Laszlo skin care routine. Once I made enough money, I bought the tote; but now it’s time for the mother load.I just previewed the full collection at Saks with Erno Laszlo’s dreamy CEO, Charles Denton. Each product was better the be next, their serum can seemingly work magic, their creams felt sublime, and using the Hollywood collection made me feel as close to a star as I will ever get.
Erno Laszlo will also be opening a 10,000 sq ft. space in NYC this October where you will be told what you should do for your skin…not asked. Sort of like 50 Shades of Grey — but giving you great skin without all that pain. Sounds like heaven to me.So it seems Mom really did know best along.

Louis Vuitton’s iconic logo print bags have cycled through some edgy collaborations (see: Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami), restyling the aesthetics of legendary Louis bags. But to mark their 100th anniversary, the luxury goods leader collaborates with British artist Billie Achilleos for Maroquinaris Zoologicae--even at 100, it’s great to see that the brand is playful.

Achilleos reimagines classic Louis Vuitton bags, wallets, and accoutrements as fashionable fauna, all with a function of reflecting design elements of Louis Vuitton in their inherent forms—Achilleos says, “The armadillo was to highlight the soft yet durable quality of the leather. The chameleon displays the variety of color.” Form, function, and fashion? If only these could escape from the zoo and into production.
