Don’t we all?

The (T) Files is obviously crazy for retrofitting and book design- so the fact that the two come together in this amazing iPhone/iPod book charging doc from etsy shop RickNeelyDesigns is blowing our minds.

Filed Under: Stamped Silverware for the Holidays

Hostess gifts are infamously boring—there are only so many times you can give/receive candles, jam, wine, dishtowels, etc. (ok, wine is never bad). But how fabulous would it be to show your gratitude, not to mention impress the party, with these stunning hand stamped vintage silverware sets? We’ve mentioned the stamped settings trend before, and it’s only growing. Scoop up a set for serving your Thanksgiving feast, or spread holiday cheer with the charming reindeer names set from BeachHouseLiving on Etsy. Next on my list: the amazing My Ice Cream/Your Ice Cream spoons

T’Isn’t the season yet, but everyone knows once Halloween is over it’s a quick slide into winter wonderland time. These evergreen decals by etsy shop WallStarGraphics would be a great alternative for those whose apartments might not be big enough for the real thing.

Filed Under: Goodbye Note to Summer

Even beyond the years of academia, something about back-to-school signals a promising shift in the seasons. Cheerfully scribble away with the Days of Summer Pencils, a sunny set to ring in the new (school) year, emblazoned with wistful summer pastimes.

The bookshelf has at this point reached design icon status. Above are two recently spotted bookshelf disguise products: a Penguin Books laptop skin from a society6 artist, and etsy shop Roadside Photograph’s bookshelf storage bin, specially designed to hide clutter neatly behind a facade of classic books.

Zigzag stripes are EVERYWHERE right now. We like this take by etsy shop aldari because it makes the whole animal silhouette thing a little less twee and a little more fun.

We have been seeing the trend of flattened and imprinted flatware all over the place- from wedding invitations to garden stakes, but this is by far my favorite take on it. I love silverware that doesn’t take itself seriously, and feel like dinner parties are on the precipice of having a comeback- potentially because of adorable decor like this.

Completely obsessed with the mason jar lights from etsy artist BootsNGuns. What is it with the love of mason jars these days? Between the home jarring movement, votives, and restaurants using them as rustic, homey glasses for extremely expensive drinks, they seem to be everywhere. But I still love them.

These animal portraits from etsy artist amberalexander are an amazing mix of whimsical, dark, and all around beautiful.

I often see annoyed parents nonchalantly handing off their iPads and iPhones to pacify screaming children. Erm, not exactly child proof. But the anaPad is drool- and shock-proof, because it’s actually a magnetic white board (with app magnets!) that’s better for tic-tac-toe than Angry Birds. Although kids are remarkably quick at figuring out Apple products’ interfaces, sometimes its better to return to the good ol’ toys, even if they are modeled after a premium tablet.

Analog is the “ana” in Pad, and this handmade Etsy find is perfect for your Apple hungry tot, or for pretending that you have an iPad ($30 vs. $500). Just don’t let that guy next to you in the subway see that you’re actually just scribbling with a pen.

Ahh, the nostalgic, homely craft of cross-stitching…with a shot of irony. Like Grace blogged awhile ago about badass embroidery (yes, I put those two words together), it doesn’t get much better than “being a patron of the arts for under $40.” I am seriously into the enthralling romance of the “Me Love You Long Time” cross-stitch from Etsy artist bombastitch. Or dare I buy a DIY kit?
