TUMBLR OBSESSN OF THE WEEK! ANIMALS TALKING IN ALL CAPS IS…JUST WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE! CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF!

HERE’S THE LATEST POST:

SHHHHHH. SPEECH IS FUTILE. LET US COMMUNICATE THROUGH PURE THOUGHT, UNDILUTED, OUR INDIVIDUAL CONSCIOUSNESS DISSOLVING IN A COMMON POOL, MINGLING, BECOMING ONE.

YES, LET US MERGE MINDS. OUR SPIRIT IS THE LIGHT, REFLECTED AND REFRACTED, WHILE WE ARE BUT FACETS OF THE SAME JEWEL. COME CLOSER. CLOSER. YES. THAT. SEEMS. TO BE. WRRRRKKKNNNNG.

… WAIT, ARE YOU THINKING ARBY’S?

YEAH, YOU TOO?

WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST SAY THAT?

Filed Under: Blog Find- Teenage Bedrooms

Tumblr is the mecca for mono-theme blogs, like Awesome People Hanging Out Together and Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber, that aggregate user-submitted photos into hilariously specific collections that we never knew we needed to look at—or would be so funny en mass, such as Uncomfortable Moments with Putin

Check out our newest favorite, Teenage Bedrooms. Because what the hell were we all thinking; that half-naked boy band posters + MK/Ashley shrine + mardi gras beads = decor?! Oh yeah, it definitely did. Reminisce on that precious teenage angst, translated through flashback photos and current adolescent submissions. Sweet!

Filed Under: Blog Crush- Closet Visit

Closet Visit is as sincere as its name—the blog is about visiting closets. But not just any closets—the eclectic, wholly original, vintage tinged closets of LA’s best dressed and most creative individuals. Not only does the lovely Jeana Sohn’s soft photography evoke a hazy bedroom visit, but it captures the enviable, inspiring style of influential women alongside their insightful interviews. And also makes me want to haul my wardrobe over to Goodwill and start all over.

The Sartorialist has set the golden standard for the fashion blog world, so I was a little more than surprised to see that he had snapped a shot of the same stylish woman that I had over a year earlier—in a similar bold floral print, and the exact same shoes?! She must be getting tired of being so beautiful and fabulous that everyone wants to take her charming picture. Same here, girlfrand. I snapped the decidedly less artful photo in the Alexis Bittar shop while trendspotting in SoHo last June. I’m just soooo ahead of Mr. Sartorialist. Ha!

PS Dear Mr. Sartorialist man, I love your website redesign; now it’s in sync with the sleek & simple content.

PPS This is the weirdest coincidence! Whoever you are, pretty lady, your style and smile are beautiful!

Interlocking Tree Table and Stool

One of my favorite design blogs, 2 Modern Blog, profiled a Brooklyn-based furniture designer, April Hannah, who was recently awarded a residency at the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC. The simple beauty and functionality of her furniture design is not only inspired by nature, but good for Mother Earth as well—it incorporates sustainable materials and non-toxic coatings into her art. Her tree table collection is adult and kid friendly, and I am lusting after the Adult Tree Desk. If you can not make it to NYC’s MAD Museum by February, explore her artwork and furniture on her site.
