After enduring enjoying the longs lines and wizard-banter of extreme Harry Potter fans last night at the midnight premiere in Santa Monica, I sat down to the final installment of my childhood the Harry Potter saga. The movie was all I expected to to be, decent but not stunning—I’m partial to the books. Of course, there was awesome action and it was the best adaptation yet, but even better were the incessant reactions from the be-spectacled crowd. With clapping for kisses and booing at Voldemort, the group experience bumped my rating of HP 7.2 up a star or two. I did not cry like the girl behind me. Kept it together.

More than anything though, Hermione Emma Watson enchanted every male and female in the theater. Obviously, she has more than come into her own as an amazingly beautiful woman…I rarely fall for fits of female infatuation, BUT I have such a huge girl-crush on Emma (see: smart haircut, smart fashion, smart brain, etc.), and can’t wait to see what she does in life after Hogwarts. i.e., My Week with Marilyn in November, with Michelle Williams as Marilyn, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012, an adaptation directed by the author and centered around awkward adolescence, sex, drugs, and romance. And with Paul Rudd. Can’t wait.
