Ever dreamed of ordering up cayenne pepper, balsamic vinegar, peanut butter, cotton candy, or gummy bears in your coffee? Me neither, but apparently the thousands of creative coffee connoisseurs toying with Seattle’s Best Coffee’s new Facebook contest are coming up with some interesting ideas. The ‘Create Your Deliciousness’ campaign lets users experiment with unconventional (to say the least!) coffee combinations with the aforementioned ingredients, plus countless others. Birthday cake coffee, anyone? 100 virtual-baristas per day win free bags of Seattle’s Best Coffee, and the company benefits from seeing what people really fantasize about in their coffee, promising to make the best concoctions into reality.

Maybe you’re trying to quit a foul habit (tobacco), or maybe you’re just facilitating another one (caffeine). Either way, grab some Grinds Coffee Pouches. Just like smokeless chewing tobacco, Grinds come in round canisters packed with pouches of flavored coffee, not cancerous junk. Although we suspect there may be similar havoc wreaked on teeth, at least you won’t need a nasty spit cup. Perfect for a “quick kick any time or any place,” it’s like insta-brew in your mouth…well, we guess anything’s better than chewing tobacco, so get grinding!

Last time I was in New York City I met up with one half of Flosstradamus, Curt and when I first showed up he nicely offered me a cup of coffee. Without knowing what I was getting myself into I said ‘yes,’ only to find that I had a variety of options. Curt was getting into the rising trend of slow brewed coffee and presented me with an array of filtered options, ones he brought from Japan. Now, I’m seeing slow brewed coffee everywhere, from the cult-like loved coffee shop Intelligentsia to some of my friend’s homes. It tastes great and makes you feel like a mad scientist while slowly pouring the boiling water over shredded grains. For any coffee lover I highly recommend picking up a slow brewed kit. Could it be that the slow brew replaces the french press for many young Americans?
