It seems that once you pass the magical age of 25 a lot of your social time is spent on one thing: WEDDINGS. Having attended roughly 15 weddings in the last 2 years I have become somewhat of an “I Do” trend expert. Here are the three things that are happening at stylish nuptial parties right now:

1) Ombre Cakes: whether in the icing or the layers, cakes are getting the ombre treatment (as are bouquets).

2) Scrabble Madness: the board game obsession has begun to seep into wedding decor, and scrabble pieces are being used to spell out names, quotes, and cutesie sayings.

3) Colored Dresses: this is one I am personally forecasting. Multi-hued wedding dresses will become somewhat mainstream in the next two years. Vera Wang’s 2012 line is in peaches and greens, and more creative brides are already shying away from white. 

Things that have become so common they’ve moved from trend to tradition: striped paper straws, sparkler send offs, and flag banners.
