We’re sorry if you just ate, because though this marketing scheme caught our attention right away, it definitely made us lose our appetites. For the premiere of Resident Evil 6, the videogame creators brought the franchise to London in the form of a pop-up “human” butcher shop. Wesker and Sons, named after the videogame’s antagonist, appeared to be selling human body parts (made of animal meat) at the Smithfield Meat Market for two days. Taking the ick-factor to a whole new level, the butcher presented human parts, limbs, and carcasses to bring cannibalism to a real-life setting. The elaborate promotion even included a fake low-budget website for the butcher shop. Thanks to brave shoppers who took home faux human meat, all proceeds from the sales were donated to the Limbless Association, which is an organization that provides support to those who have lost their limbs.
